San Diego Flight Museum is held together by director, Reg Finch, and a small, but growing group of members. Here are a few pictures and descriptions of each.
Reg Finch
Reg Finch is the President who takes out the trash and sweeps the floors. His training for this consisted of 1500 hours of flying with the Royal Canadian Air Force including a tour with 433 and 414 All Seasons (Weather )Fighter Squadrons, flying the CF-100 Super clunk; graduate training was 34 years of mind softening Airline Flying on everything from DC-6s, 767, through 747s with American Airlines. A degree in Aerospace Engineering from San Diego State University ensured a total lack of knowledge of everything else. His interest in aviation started at an early age of 8 when he built, then later designed and flew model airplanes, carving up the family dining table in the process. His mother, so happy to see her first born take up a non criminal pass time gladly sacrificed her treasured furniture. He lectures at forums at the American Institute of compulsive Aeronautics and Astronautics in San Diego, at EAA conventions, San Diego State University and anywhere standards are not being strictly adhered to. He has written papers on Aerodynamics and wingtip design in particular. He is current in the Mig-21 and will obtain a Rating in the Folland Gnat shortly. He also flies the PT-19 and the Long -Eze. He has a firm grip on the rudderless tiller of the San Diego Flight.
